Bluffing Strategy For Texas Holdem
Mar 17th
Texas Holdem strategy can be learned easily, but you do need the experience. You see, it takes much more than knowledge of the rules and good Texas Holdem strategy to consistently walk away from the table a winner. You need to master all facets of the game to be a constant winner.
You need to be skilled at reading your opponents. You need to read their strategy, their faces, and their body language. You also need to know how to manage your bankroll, when to raise and how much you can afford to risk on your hand. You also need to be able to read the cards and predict your opponent’s hand.
With all the above-mentioned skills, you still need to be able to successfully bluff your opponent. This is very important when you need to drive out other players because you have a weak hand, and you don’t want them to hang around and catch some cards. If you can master this skill, you will become a very successful Texas Holdem player and regularly walk away a winner. Here are some rules I use when bluffing at my Texas Holdem table;
- 1) I need to know who my opponents are. If they are good or expert players, I should limit my bluffing because they usually can read a bluff. If they are inexperienced players, they may just keep calling.
2) If I can bluff on specific hands such as a flush or straight, I have a better chance at succeeding.
3) If I can make myself appear aggressive (but not stupid), I will have a greater chance at succeeding.
4) When all the players have checked on the previous betting round, I think this is a good time to bluff. If I should be re-raised, I would fold my bluff.
5) I rarely bluff a hopeless hand. I save this for the times I am against one or two opponents, and then only when I feel my opponent is playing extremely conservative. I can usually push an opponent hard in this situation. This works real well, even if I get caught if my opponent calls me and I have a strong hand.
I have only mentioned some of the strategies needed to be a winning Texas Holdem player. I would encourage you to find more resources and try to master your strategy. You need a complete strategy, just as your favorite sports team does. They could not win without a complete game plan, and neither can you.
Good Luck!

Texas Holdem – A Successful Strategy For Easy Risk Free Cash
Jan 23rd
Don’t make the mistake of missing out on this great Texas Holdem successful strategy. It’s easy to learn and implement and best of all, it works!
The are almost unlimited Texas Holdem strategies. Unfortunately, not all of them turn out to be a successful strategy. I’m going to explain what I think is one of the best ways to make easy, practically risk free cash playing Texas Holdem
We’re Gonna Cut Straight To The Successful Strategy
I’m going to skip all the basics and cut right to the chase. Just in case you need to know, you need to do or have done the following things first
- Know the rules of Texas Holdem
- Have player before and understand the game
- Have an online casino account
- Put money into your bankroll
- Know how to sit at a table and play
- Know all the buttons to bet and fold etc.
- Know which tables you will play at (I suggest $1/$2 tables)
A Really Successful Strategy For Texas Holdem
The strategy I suggest you use if you want easy success is a TAG strategy, or a tight aggressive strategy. What this strategy entails is playing a tight game and betting aggressively.
Playing tight means that you only play good hole cards. For example, A-A,A-K,K-K,A-Q,K-Q and we go down the list. The lower you go down the list the less pure chance/probability you will have of winning based on ‘all things being equal’. Although this doesn’t give a real indication of if you will actually win or not (especially at high level play) it is still pretty good, all things being equal.
Playing aggressive means that you bet lots and bet big. You raise and will reraise others raises. Aggressive players don’t check. The reason this works well is because it gives the indication that you have good cards. Also, people are hesitant to go into a pot they know will be large if they don’t have a very good hand. In short, this weeds out the bluffers and semi-bluffers aka loose players.
Why This Is Such A Successful Strategy
1) It works well online because the speed of the game is faster. You get dealt more hands per hour. This way you can ‘afford’ to play tighter because you’re not losing so much time when you fold hand after hand. The cards that you want (great/strong cards) will come more often then if you were playing in a casino. This isn’t the best strategy for a casino because it’s too slow.
2) It reduces you risk as much as possible because you are only playing very strong cards. Of course, if you don’t hit on the flop you essentially don’t have anything but this is the same no matter what cards you play. The idea is that with traditional odds you have a better chance of winning. I’d rather that over a worse chance of winning.
3) It increases you wins and your profits because you are playing aggressive. You chock the pot up with your bets. Other players will fold more often because they know they need premium cards and have to put up a bunch of money to even take you on. Don’t be surprised if it gets to the point that everyone just folds because you are in the pot. This is ok because you will get their blinds.

Best Strategy for Heads Up NL Hold’Em
Dec 24th
Most NL Holdem players are not comfortable when they get heads-up. In this example, I am not talking about just solely playing heads-up, but once you get heads-up in say, a SnG or MTT. There are a couple of easy things to bear in mind when you find yourself in these situations that will help you finish 1st more times than you finish in 2nd.
First of all, most players display way too much willingness to become involved in big pots heads up when they have the chip lead or when the chip stacks are about 50/50. Especially if you have the lead, lets say $9500 and your opponent has $3500. Think about this point: why would you want to get into a big pot with a marginal hand? The only way your opponent can get back into the game is if you let him double up. He would have to win many multiple hands in a row by just taking the blinds to make a dent in your chip stack, so why give him the chance to double up when you have something like K-6? This is the time to become selective. Big Aces and pocket pairs play great in this situation, but do not let yourself get dragged into calling all-in plays with something like Q-T when you have your opponent stacked.
The best thing to do when you are up, heads up, is play small ball. Take small pots, take the blinds, it is ok to stay aggressive, but as soon as he comes back over the top of you with an all-in and you do not have a great hand, FOLD!! The objective here is to keep chipping away until you do get a big hand, and then put him away. The worst thing you can do is let him double up and get right back into the game.
So, don’t call an all-in and do not raise all-in unless you feel you are way out front in the hand. The temptation is there to make a big all-in raise to steal the blinds, but again, you never know when he will hit a monster or when he will just plain luck out. You do not need to take the chance when you have the chip lead.
Conversely, when you are short stacked to your opponent, you need to try and force him to make tough decisions that can potentially double you up. You are looking to get all your chips in because it is the only way that you can get back into the tournament and win it. Hands like K-8 now become worth pushing all-in with for 2 reasons: fold equity or the fact that your opponent could make a snal call with the worse hand and double you up.
Remember this when you get down to a heads up game. How you played to get there pretty much goes out the window. What becomes important is adjusting your style to fit your chip stack. If you do not, you will find yourself in 2nd place more often than not.

Simplified Strategy For Winning Texas Holdem – Start With Premium Hands
Oct 6th
When starting out in low limit Texas Hold em a safe and sure strategy is to only play the premium pre flop starting hands. They are AA, KK,QQ ,AKs, AQs, JJ, KQs, AJs, KJs, ATs, AKo, TT.
These hands play well from any position and are proven to be the top performers. As a beginner, sticking to these starting hands will keep you in the game so you can learn and develop additional techniques to winning at Texas Hold em.
As you gain experience and add additional strategies the foundation laid by playing these starting hands will enable you to beat tougher more savvy players at all levels.
In some games this strategy alone can make you a winner. Always remember winning at Texas hold em is not about playing cards, it’s about playing people. Or as Phil Helmut said in his book, Play Poker Like The Pros, “don’t think of hold em as a card game played by people, in many respects it is even more valid to think of it as a game about people. That happens to be played with cards.”
Starting out as a beginner at Texas hold em with just this simple strategy, and really not much else in the way of poker knowledge should enable you to be win more than your fair share of big pots.
Works as an online Texas Hold Em Strategy as Well! If you consistently play only the premium hands your opponents will begin to respect your bets and raises because they know you’re playing with something powerful. Earning the other players respect, gives you the discretion to make different plays as your game advances.
You will need this foundation so that you can add some additional strategy to your poker playing arsenal, playing tight will not give you enough pots in a tough game. Premium hands won’t show up often enough to win consistently and you never want to become too predictable to the other players at the Texas hold em table.
Recommended by Experts
All of the top pros suggest you wait for the premium hands before you get involved in a pot, unless you’re in a game with a lot of very tight players, which doesn’t happen very often in the lower limit Texas hold em games.
Waiting for premium hands means that you will have to fold a lot. I realize this can get boring, but how exciting is it play a lot of hands and lose most of them?
You can play the premium hands from any position in the betting order, and it doesn’t matter how many bets it costs you to get in. You should raise with these hands in almost all situations.
If you have a reason to believe that your pocket tens are behind due to the fact that the tightest player in the game reraised and made it four bets to go, then it might be a good idea to fold the hand. However in most cases, you can and should, play these premium starting hands, aggressively.
This strategy alone will not be enough as you get in the games with higher stakes and tougher opponents, but it can serve you profitably as a beginner until you advance your knowledge and skill.

Limit Texas Holdem Strategy
Sep 25th
Limit Texas Holdem is a variation of poker game that is very popular among poker players, both professional and novice. There is also a no limit version but it is harder for new players to learn. Limit Texas Holdem also has two subcategories: low limit and high limit. As a new learning player, you will probably start with the low limit game and will proceed to the higher limits as you learn. Different game situations will require you to apply a particular limit Texas Holdem strategy. You will need to study different available strategies and how and when you should apply them. Then you should practice each limit Texas Holdem strategy that you learned. It is particularly good to do that through the online casinos since you can practice from the convenience of your home.
Since you will start with low limit Texas Holdem strategy types, we will focus on them first. The low limit game is usually played with 8 or more players – the longhand game type, as it is sometimes called. Patience is the best quality for this type of game. The best advice is to play aggressively only when you get solid superior cards combinations. Each hand combination will have a particular limit Texas Holdem strategy designed specifically for it. For example, the best possible hand combination that you can get before the flop is a pair of aces, kings, queens or jacks. An ace and a king that are of the same suit is also in this category. You should raise if you get this type of hand. If you have two 10s or two 9s, your strategy should be to aim for the set.
As you progress to the high limit levels, you will apply separate limit Texas Holdem strategy types designed specifically for this game variation. The number of players would generally decrease to 6 players or less – the shorthand game type. This is especially true if you play in online casinos. If you are not a professional poker player and just in the process of learning, the strategy here is to stay away from betting if you see an aggressive game from other players. You should actively participate is you see that your opponents are playing passively. In a case of an aggressive play, the strategy is to stay in the game (pre-flop) if you have a high pair (two aces, kings, queens or jack) or an ace and a king. Depending on the analysis of the situation, you may want to re-raise with above high pairs or call with the ace-king and ace-queen combinations.
